About the Farm

Background

Stoneledge Farm, a 300-acre certified organic farm located in the foothills of the Northern Catskills in Greene County, New York, has been a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm since 1996. The original farmstead and greenhouses are situated on 50 acres of mostly wooded land, supported by a stone ledge running just below the soil surface. The farm fields and main barns are located nearby on prime agricultural land adjacent to the Catskill Creek. The farm has grown and prospered with the support of CSA membership and the dedicated efforts of the family, now led by Peter Jr. and Candice, with support from Pete Sr., Deborah, and a hardworking staff. The third generation, Peter and Candice's three children, Grace, Emma, and Peter III, are also involved in daily farm activities.

Practices

The farm adheres to certified organic practices, ensuring that all produce is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. The land is treated with respect, maintaining soil health through crop rotation, cover cropping, and organic amendments. The farm's commitment to organic farming is evident in its diverse crop offerings and the meticulous care taken in cultivation and harvesting.

The Rest

Stoneledge Farm offers a variety of shares through its CSA program, including full and small shares of vegetables, optional mushroom shares from Bulich Mushroom Farm, bread shares from See & Be Bakery, and seasonal fruit shares. The farm crew, consisting of family members and dedicated staff, works tirelessly to provide fresh, organic produce to their CSA members. The farm's produce includes a wide range of vegetables and herbs, such as lettuce, radishes, garlic scapes, kale, and more, with weekly updates on available shares.
