About the Farm
Background
Scott and Jeff grew up on small farms in Tyler, Texas, where Scott showed cutting horses and Jeff raised show cattle. After returning from Texas A&M and Texas Tech, they decided to start raising beef cattle together. Their venture gained popularity among family and friends, leading them to launch Cut Beef in 2014. The name was chosen for its simplicity in representing their product.
Practices
The beef is raised on two neighboring ranches in Tyler, Texas, and is free from hormones and antibiotics. The beef is USDA inspected and dry-aged for at least 21 days to ensure quality taste and tenderness. Each cut is vacuum sealed for freshness, and larger packages are flash frozen to maintain quality. The farm also grain finishes their pasture-raised beef for the last 90 to 120 days to enhance natural flavor and marbling. Additionally, they offer 100% grass-fed beef raised on the J1 ranch in Athens, Texas.
The Rest
In 2016, they began partnering with local farmers to provide pastured chicken and pork. They offer a variety of bulk beef packages, including quarter, half, and whole cows, as well as smaller cuts and specialty items. Customers can join their e-letter for updates and promotions.
