About the Farm
Background
Located on the banks of the Luckiamute River in the Hoskins area of Kings Valley, Oregon, this small family farm has made it their mission to serve the local community with food grown through unconventional methods. Known for their biodynamic produce, they have earned certifications from Demeter and Oregon Tilth Certified Organic.
Practices
The farm employs a systems approach to balance food production with the health of local forest, field, and river ecosystems, as well as the planet. They minimize the use of off-farm and petroleum-dependent inputs, striving to emulate natural systems. Key practices include integrating animals for fertility and weed management, selecting crops and cultivars for pest and disease control, and 'farmscaping' to provide habitat for native pollinators and natural pest predators.
The Rest
The farm is Demeter Certified Biodynamic® and certified organic by Oregon Tilth Certified Organic.
