About the Farm
Background
The Eickschens, originally from west-central Minnesota, managed and invested in a hotel in River Falls for ten years before feeling a pull towards agriculture and hospitality. They prayed for guidance and soon after, an opportunity arose to sell their business and pursue their dream. They established Green Pastures Family Farm on the banks of the upper Kinnickinnic River, transforming it into a space for rest, reconnection, and celebration.
Practices
Vegetables are grown naturally, and livestock is raised on pasture or woodlands using humane practices. The farm emphasizes a connection to the land and a commitment to ethical treatment of animals.
The Rest
Green Pastures Family Farm offers a variety of services including a retreat cottage for getaways, a historic barn for events, and outfitters providing fishing gear, guide services, and kayak rentals. The farm aims to be an uplifting space for the community and region, encouraging visitors to slow down and connect with nature.
