About the Farm
Background
Since 2010, Growing Lots Urban Farm has been transforming vacant lots in the Seward Neighborhood of South Minneapolis into productive farm sites. Known for its Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, the farm offers a diverse array of produce, including both familiar favorites and unique options to expand culinary horizons.
Practices
The farm focuses on natural growing methods, ensuring that their produce is cultivated without synthetic chemicals. By reclaiming urban spaces, they contribute to local food security and community revitalization, creating green spaces in the heart of the city.
The Rest
CSA members can pick up their shares at the farm each Wednesday, where they can enjoy the farm's beautiful space and interact with the farmers. The farm offers full share, half share, and discounted work share options, along with add-ons like cut flowers, a canning share, and a fall share. Additionally, a weekly newsletter provides tips on preparing, preserving, and appreciating the produce. The farm welcomes visitors and offers tours to both members and non-members.
