About the Farm
Background
The farm's roots trace back to Western North Carolina, where the current owner was born and raised on a family farm that primarily raised Angus cows, hogs, and goats. After pursuing a professional career, the owner returned to farming, purchasing a 60-acre farm in Icard, NC. The farm has expanded over the years to include sheep, chickens, and turkeys.
Practices
The farm adheres to a set of core ideals focused on humane treatment and natural growth. Animals are never given growth hormones, and manure is used as fertilizer to minimize chemical exposure. With the exception of poultry, all animals are pasture-raised. Poultry are kept in clean, dry, heated environments until feathered, then moved to pasture. Processing is done humanely in USDA-inspected facilities. The cows are 100% grass-fed, while sheep and hogs graze on pastures supplemented with high-quality hay and feed.
The Rest
The farm invites visitors to see firsthand how their meat is raised, emphasizing the superior taste and quality compared to supermarket offerings. They offer a range of products including Black Angus beef, Duroc and Hampshire pork, and Katahdin lamb. Testimonials from satisfied customers highlight the exceptional quality and taste of the farm's products.
