About the Farm

Background

Since 1997, the family behind this farm has been on a quest to be self-sustainable, initially raising their own meat and vegetable products. In 2009, they officially started their farm on a three-acre plot, expanding to 38 acres in 2010, and finally settling on a 300-acre leased farm in 2012. On March 26th, 2020, they purchased a 94-acre family farm in Lewisburg, KY, where they continue to provide healthy, sustainable options to the community.

Practices

The farm employs a soil-building principle known as Management Intensive Grazing (MIG), rotating cows and chickens through different pasture sections to allow the land to rest and regenerate. This method avoids the use of herbicides, pesticides, commercial sprays, and fertilizers, fostering a healthier environment for earthworms and reducing runoff into streams and rivers. All animals, including beef, lamb, chicken, pork, turkey, and duck, are raised on pasture with no added hormones, antibiotics, or medications, and supplemented with non-GMO grains.

The Rest

Farm tours are available from April to November, and products can be purchased on the farm, at drop-off locations, or through Buying Clubs year-round. The farm emphasizes the importance of knowing your farmer to know your food, providing a 'consumer-producer' friendly environment.
