McCann's True Cost Farm

TC Farm began as a hobby farm founded by Betsy and Jack McCann, who were frustrated with the shortcuts taken in conventional meat production. They started their own farm in 2010 to raise food without shortcuts, and it has since grown into a network of over 2000 member families. Jack McCann transitioned from a career in entrepreneurship and management consulting to lead TC Farm, while Betsy McCann, with her passion for cooking, ensures the highest-quality ingredients are used. The farm collaborates with other local farmers who share their standards.

TC Farm employs sustainable, pasture-based farming methods, focusing on soil repair and improvement. They use healthy, genetically diverse plants and animals, providing them with natural, pleasant living conditions. The farm's practices include raising animals on open green pastures, feeding them organic or transition grains, and avoiding any growth drugs. They also emphasize the use of heirloom produce varieties and slow-growing animal breeds for better texture and richer flavor. The farm's approach improves soil health, restores native prairies, and protects water bodies, acting as a carbon sink.

TC Farm offers direct-to-home deliveries and partners with local farmers to provide a variety of organic produce and meats. They are committed to respecting animals, the land, and future generations. The farm's produce is 100% organic, and their beef and lamb are 100% grass-fed and dry-aged. The farm's philosophy extends to educating others, with team members like Becca Carlson teaching sustainable agriculture at St. Olaf College and advising their student farm.
