About the Farm

Background

Ozone Park CSA, after seven seasons of independent operation, joined forces with Cypress Hills CSA. The CSA is managed by its members and operates from the founder’s garage in Cypress Hills. Despite the blog being neglected, the CSA continues to thrive, powered by a dedicated team of volunteers. The CSA has been a part of the community's weekly lives, supporting a vibrant and diverse neighborhood.

Practices

The CSA sources its vegetables and extras from Norwich Meadows Farm. The produce includes a variety of organic vegetables, and the meat, eggs, and dairy are all from pastured animals. The chickens and eggs are certified organic, and while the beef meets organic standards, it is not always certified. Vegetables are pre-boxed, but items like flour, eggs, meat, dairy, and added value products must be picked individually.

The Rest

The CSA offers different share options, including vegan, lacto/ovo, and meat shares, with the option to add apples or cider from Red Jacket Orchard. Distribution takes place on Tuesdays from 6 PM to 8 PM. Sign-ups and payments are handled online, and half shares are available. The winter CSA delivers every three weeks, with specific delivery dates provided. The CSA also offers a variety of added value products such as tomato puree, pickled ginger, garlic scapes, and more.
