About the Farm

Background

In 1968, a young girl named Jennifer Bice moved with her family from Los Angeles to Sebastopol in Northern California, where she discovered a passion for goats through the local 4-H program. Over the next fifty years, she built a pioneering farm that became the first Certified Humane goat dairy in the United States. Known for its award-winning herd and creamery, the farm has been committed to sharing the benefits of goat dairy with communities across the country.

Practices

The farm adheres to the highest standards of animal welfare, with all milk sourced from Certified Humane farms. Goats are raised in an environment of love and respect, free to express their natural behaviors. The creamery is powered by 100% renewable energy from solar, wind, and geothermal sources, and operates an extensive water-saving program using grey water for irrigation. Packaging is designed with sustainability in mind, using lightweight recyclable plastic free of harmful chemicals.

The Rest

The farm is a proud partner of the Buy Fresh Buy Local campaign and emphasizes minimal processing in its dairy products, using a slow-culturing process to produce hundreds of billions of probiotics per serving. The farm also highlights interesting facts about goat births, noting that kids most commonly arrive as twins, but triplets, quadruplets, and even quintuplets can occur.
