About the Farm
Background
Riverview Farm Dairy Sheep has focused on delivering versatile sheep to families, offering fine wool, milk for cheese, and delicately flavored meat. The farm maintains a small flock of carefully crossed breeds to create the ideal all-around family sheep.
Practices
Sheep are handled daily and guarded by Livestock Guard Dogs, with ewes raised on a diet primarily of grass hay and pasture. To support healthy lambing, whole grains are added during late gestation and lactation. The farm also raises Royal Palm Turkeys in a free-range pasture, where they feed on bugs, acorns, and natural forage.
The Rest
Lambs are available in January, February, May, and April, with some fall lambs planned for year-round availability. The farm does not process on-site but can facilitate processing services as needed. Lambs and turkeys are sold 'ready to process'.
