About the Farm
Background
Thousand Hills Farm has established itself as a local provider of high-quality, pasture-raised meats and eggs. Known for their commitment to raising animals without antibiotics, pesticides, growth hormones, or steroid implants, the farm has garnered a loyal customer base. Their beef and pork are processed locally under USDA inspection, ensuring quality and safety.
Practices
The farm employs rotational grazing to enhance both animal and soil health. Cattle are born, raised, and finished on pasture, never consuming grain. Pigs are raised entirely outdoors, allowed to dig and forage, and are provided with free-choice, locally produced, non-GMO grains. Chickens are raised in floorless pasture shelters, moved to fresh grass daily, and supplemented with non-GMO feed. Humane livestock handling is a cornerstone of their practices, reducing animal stress and improving product quality.
The Rest
Beef is sold by the quarter, pork by the half, and chickens are available either whole or cut up. Eggs from pastured New Hampshire chickens are available self-serve at the farm for $3.00 per dozen. Reservations must be made ahead of time for meat purchases.
