About the Farm
Background
In 2018, Brittany and Chris White founded the farm to provide high-quality, healthy products to the Abilene area while restoring the land. Both graduates of Texas Tech University with Mechanical Engineering degrees, they moved from Houston to the Big Country, where Chris was originally from. Brittany, originally from Missouri, spent much of her childhood on family farms. Their journey into regenerative agriculture began with a desire to be part of a movement that promotes land restoration and sustainable farming.
Practices
The farm employs mobile coops to move flocks to fresh pasture regularly, ensuring the birds have access to a variety of bugs and forages while maintaining hygiene. This practice also allows the pastures to rest and regenerate, incorporating the manure left behind into the soil. The focus on pasture-raised methods supports both animal welfare and land health.
The Rest
Orders can be placed online with deliveries in the Abilene area every Friday morning. The farm emphasizes the connection between healthy soil, healthy animals, and healthy people, inviting customers to taste the difference in their products. They are committed to being an integral part of the Abilene community and plan to expand their product offerings in the future.
