About the Farm
Background
Melanie Kuegler and Chris Jagger began their farming relationship together in Santa Cruz, California in the late 90’s, working at various farms large and small but all with the same ideal — Growing Good Food. They moved to the Applegate Valley in 2002 and have been growing vegetables there since 2003. The farm was created to revitalize the reality of what is rapidly being lost in America — The Small Family Farm.
Practices
The farm is committed to using ecologically sustainable agricultural practices free of conventional chemical pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, and genetically modified organisms. All of the vegetables grown meet this standard. The farm is Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth and Certified Salmon Safe. They grow vegetables on about 15 acres at a time, resting and replenishing the land in a series of rotations.
The Rest
Products include baby bok choy, beets, cabbage, carrots, chard, cilantro, cucumbers, daikon radish, fennel, head lettuce, hot peppers, bell peppers, Italian parsley, kale, leeks, napa cabbage, onions, parsnips, radishes, rainbow carrots, salad mix, turnips, shallots, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, winter squash, and zucchini.
